What do you feel about patients being taken off life support in order to make room for H1N1 cases?

This was a topic of discussion in one of my classes (I'm a nursing student). If a pandemic were to break, hospitals would begin to triage patients. So terminally ill patients (late-stage cancer, etc.) would be removed from life support to make room for new cases. This can only be activated in case of emergency by the governor.

I honestly had no idea how to reply to this in class. How do you guys feel about this? I'm just wanting opinions from different people. Thanks! What do you feel about patients being taken off life support in order to make room for H1N1 cases?
this sounds like a drastic last option effort, but perhaps the question should be what other options are open.

It;s easy to say thats not fair, but what else can be done.
