I've seen Republicans use this defense literally 100s of times. I've seen Democrats use it maybe dozens, either way it's equally absurd.
Anyone one using such a defense shouldn't be listened to on issues concerning ethics, EVER.Why is all Republican corruption justified by cases of greater Democrat corruption but the opposite not true?
Your premise is flawed, at best. Both parties constantly point fingers at the other over every issue.
If they would both stop playing the blame game we might get something accomplished.
But I don't see much hope of that, do you?Why is all Republican corruption justified by cases of greater Democrat corruption but the opposite not true?
What you suggest occurs all around the planet. In the two-party-dictatorship that we are told is freedom, there is one side whose policies consist of little more than abusing the ';other'; party and one party which tries to present serious political intentions. The history of the latter appears to leave it open to this kind of abuse. Perhaps those on the left would much rather get on with politics, while those on the right would rather turn all political debate into pointless arguments.
In human relationship, one of the greatest reasons for marriage failures is when one partner constantly reminds the other of their previous actions. Many things change in both human and political arenas that result in past actions becoming completely irrelevant: yet one side insists upon dragging up past events, to the considerable detriment and annoyance of the other party. This kind of activity is destructive and always causes far more harm than good. In the political arena it usually results in the least favourable party achieving power.
I've seen them both use it many, many times. In my opinion, party should not matter. If somebody is corrupt they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and treated exactly the same as any other criminal.
I agree with the other poster, voting party is dumb! Party politics are poison to this country.
I think the worst case is whenever an affair is exposed, people jump all over it. They are basically keeping score on who has more adulterers in their party. It's like, Dems: 11 Reps: 12. The dems are winning! Then the next week it's republicans.
We know it happens on both sides, so why we are even using it as political ammunition is beyond me. It's the same with corruption. We can all point fingers.
';I've seen Republicans use this defense literally 100s of times. I've seen Democrats use it maybe dozens';
I think you are one of those democrats that can never see the evil of your own party. your probably think obama is the greatest man in the world.
I think you need to join the world some day and leave behind your blinders.
Both parties are equally corrupt and anyone voting along any party-lines is an idiot.
The shell-game that keeps people arguing about ';Left/Right'; issues just keeps us distracted from the fact that both parties lie to the public, and are all owned by the EXACT SAME corporate interests.
politics is o childish. I like to imagine children behind the microphones and keyboards when Im reading , and things start to make senses. It's amazing that grown adults say the things they say,without ever stopping to think of the same situation in the other persons shoes.
Republicans are attacked over little outbursts and alleged incident, but Democrats get away with cheating on their taxes and hiding cash in freezers.
